Answers:
Why would I need to use a CDN to deliver my media files?
Rich media files, and in particular large Flash files, can be delivered from web servers, but often at the expense of site performance. By using a CDN, the 'heavy lifting' burden of your media files is taken from your web servers, allowing them to do what they do best - deliver your webpages to keep your customers engaged.

What file formats can I upload?
You can upload any media file. The most popoular files types hosted and delivered using the service are streaming video files. These include Flash files ( .flv and .swf ), Windows Media Video files ( .wmv ) and also QuickTime files ( .mov ). If we don't recognise the file format we will contact you and let you know whether we can add support for your file - in most cases this can be done in a couple of hours.

Where are your servers?
Mydeo uses the Limelight Networks Global Content Delivery Network (CDN) to deliver images, web pages, video, music, social media, software downloads — all at lightning-fast speeds. The network architecture is designed to maximize the user experience through high performance and reliable delivery of every object, every time. No matter how challenging your delivery requirements — how large or popular your files or how massive your library — the infrastructure can support your business needs today and in the future.

What do I get on the free trial?
You get access to all the features in m3 for 15 days. This includes the Media Manager for managing and tagging your files and full online reporting for monitoring your traffic. You can choose HTTP or Streaming delivery. Trial accounts are however limited to 250MB of storage and 2GB of throughput.

What happens if I go over the throughput allowance for my plan?
Don’t worry - we'll keep delivering your content. Each of our plans have a "burst" rate - this indicates the cost per GB should you go over your plan allowance. For example, the "Beta" plan gives you 100GB of data delivery per month. The burst rate for the Beta plan is £1/GB, so if your total throughput for the month was actually 125GB your burst charge would be £25. Any burst charges are added automatically to your next bill (please note: m3 has different burst rates for different currencies; these are stated clearly on the plan purchase screen).

What payment methods are available?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex. If you prefer not to pay by credit card we can also accept standing orders set up for the 1st of the month for the service month ahead. Due to the high administrative overhead, we can only accept cheques as upfront payment for annual contracts.

I need more storage than your plans allow - what can I do?
Storage over the plan allowance is charged at £1 per GB (rates vary for different currencies). So if you have a very low throughput requirement but a lot of storage you may be better off buying a lower throughput plan and paying the storage overage, rather than paying for more throughput than you need. Your maximum total storage for the month will be calculated and any plan overage will be added automatically to your next bill.

I am doing a one-off campaign. Can I sign up for just one month?
Yes - no problem. We understand that many campaigns only require rich media delivery for a few months. Upload the video files you need to run your campaign, choose a plan, then contact us to let us know not to renew your plan at the end of the campaign.

Are there any set-up costs or hidden charges?
No. There are no setup costs and no chargeable extras. We believe our prices for delivery are the best you can buy for global CDN delivery. That's why you wont ever need to contact us for a quote - the prices you see on the site are the prices you pay.

Can I change plans?
Yes - no problem. If you wish to change plans click "upgrade" from your dashboard. You will remain on your existing plan until the end of the month, then your plan will change automatically from the first day of the following month.

Can I use FTP to upload my content?
Yes. While we do encourage people to use m3 or the desktop connector to upload their content, we do understand that in certain circumstances there is no way to avoid using an FTP account. One can be arranged fairly quickly, simply contact us and and someone will help you as quickly as possible. The FTP accounts are seperate from m3 and the stats for your media will be collected in a different manner but they are all available.
